How It Works

1. Choose your map
Select your size, wood color, and BLANK or DETAILED style. Tell us your lake, river, or coastline and add any names, dates, or personal message.

2. Approve your design
After you order, we’ll email a digital preview within 1-2 business days. Check the details, request any changes, and approve your design.

3. We craft and ship it
Once you approve, we’ll make your wood and epoxy map and prepare it for delivery. Production and shipping times are listed in Shipping & Returns.
Materials

Made from layered plywood and epoxy resin, with a hand-finished wood surface. Natural variations in grain and color make each map slightly different.

Delivery to your door for all USA orders.

  • The shipping cost to other countries from 15 USD and depends on the destination. Please check the shipping cost for your selected items at checkout. If you have any questions, please, contact our customer support.

Delivery options may include door delivery/ mailbox delivery, or pickup at a UPS/USPS access point in your city. The specific shipping conditions depend on the service provided by the shipping company in your region.

USA orders: We cover all import duties and taxes — no extra fees on delivery.

Return/Exchange

  • We accept returns and exchanges on items that are not personalized, not custom-made, and not on clearance within 30 days of your receipt of the package.  Items must be in new condition and original packaging. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs plus any shipping costs required to send an item for exchange.
  • We do NOT accept returns or exchanges on personalized, custom-made, or items that are on clearance. 
FAQ

Can you make a map of my lake, river, or coastline?

Yes - even if your location isn’t listed in our shop. Enter its name, state or region, and country when personalizing your map. An address or coordinates can help us find the exact spot. Each map is made to order for your chosen location.

What is the difference between BLANK and DETAILED?

BLANK focuses on the shoreline and water shape, without roads. DETAILED adds roads, place names, and other local details. Both styles can include your personalized text. See the comparison photo in the gallery to choose the look you prefer.

Can I choose the wood color?

Yes. Choose from the wood colors shown in the personalization options. Natural grain and lighting can make the finished color look slightly different from the photos. If you have another color in mind, email service@murwoodhome.com before ordering - we’re happy to discuss it.

Can I add names or order a map without text?

You can add a family name, lake house name, meaningful date, coordinates, or a short message. Prefer no lettering? Enter “No text” in the personalization field, even if the field is required. We’ll confirm your preferences in the digital preview.

Will I see a preview before you make my map?

Yes. Within 1–2 business days of your order, we’ll email a digital preview for you to review. Check the map area, spelling, dates, and layout, and let us know if anything needs changing. We begin production only after you approve the design.

Can you show the whole lake or a closer view of one area?

Tell us which view you prefer when ordering: the entire lake, a particular bay, or the area around your home or cabin. The amount of detail depends on the selected area and map size. We’ll confirm the boundaries and layout with you in the preview.

What sizes are available?

Choose from four approximate sizes:

  • Small: 8 × 12 inches
  • Medium: 12 × 17 inches
  • Large: 16 × 23 inches
  • Extra Large: 21 × 30 inches

Can I mark my home, dock, or favorite fishing spots?

Yes. Each map comes with approximately 30 red pins and 8 fish-shaped markers. These are removable adhesive markers that you can place on the map to highlight your cabin, dock, fishing spots, or other places you want to remember.

What is the map made from, and what gives it a 3D effect?

The map combines layered wood with epoxy resin. The raised wooden layers and contrasting water areas give it a dimensional surface. Close-up photos in the gallery show the shoreline details, wood grain, and resin finish.

How long do production and shipping take?

Your digital preview is sent within 1-2 business days of ordering. After you approve it, production usually takes 1-3 business days.

Estimated shipping time is 10-14 business days for standard delivery or 5-8 business days for expedited delivery. Shipping time is additional to design approval and production.
